OpenAI Chair Bret Taylor's Startup comes out of Stealth

There are so many AI startups and funding raising rounds I want to cover. I simple don’t have the time to cover them all.

Bret Taylor’s startup has been in stealth for quite some time, and he’s on the board of OpenAI so there’s a lot of intrigue.

He left Salesforce in November 2022, Bret Taylor and Clay Bavor have launched Sierra, a conversational AI startup aiming to revolutionize business customer experience with easy-to-understand AI interactions. Sierra has secured $110 million in funding from investors including Sequoia Capital and Benchmark.

They have reached a $1 Billion valuation. In some ways 2024 is a good year for AI agents and OS of AI foundational work.

According to Markets and Markets, the conversational AI market was valued at $10.7 billion in 2023 and is expected to grow with a CAGR of over 22% to nearly $30 billion by 2028.
